I recently attended and made music for a workshop at the Awakening Center in Rainier, Washington, given by Alina Shalev. Alina focused on the divine within each of us, and shared her wisdom and awareness with every story she told. I was fascinated to see her and hear her in action, helping people break down barriers held deeply within. She did this, with each person who presented their challenges, with what felt like real love and compassion. She has inspired me to a new level of awareness, both within and around me.
0I'm excited to announce that my latest work, entitled Reiki Healing Music, is now available. This is my first CD published by an entity other than myself. I first heard of Sounds True when I was working in Boulder, Colorado in the Spring of 2009. I contacted them, and decided to send them a few of my CDs that I had published. I didn't know then that they publish very few music CDs, as their focus is on spiritual teachings. Months went buy and I heard nothing from them.
0Just waking up on June 1 after playing at Folklife in Seattle. This was my 7th Folklife. This one was the wettest. I showed up Sunday morning, deciding to not even go to Seattle on Friday or Saturday because of the weather. The day started wet, with roving showers coming through frequently. I had changed my set-up to try and keep my instruments dry, but I didn't know how well the strategy would work. Only one way to know, so I set up in between showers and got to work. More soon...
